Almost all good TV boxes today are equipped with WiFi. However, they sometimes differ greatly in the type of connection. Because while some boxes work with dual WiFi and can use two antennas for streaming, you only must get by with a 2.4 GHz WiFi connection with simpler boxes. In the test, we examined which WLAN boxes are recommended that support stable connections and are therefore ideally suited for streaming via WLAN.

The result can be found in the list of the best at the end, in which we have summarized the three best Smart TV boxes with WiFi for you. It has been shown that one or the other cheap Smart TV Box is also equipped with WLAN modules that support both 2.4 and 4 GHz networks

Which are the best Smart TV boxes with WiFi in India?

Fire TV Stick streaming media player with Alexa built-in

The new Fire TV system from Amazon was able to convince across the board in the test. Especially in terms of speed, the model offers excellent performance.

In addition to the 1.5 GHz, quad-core processor for smooth games and UHD playback with 60 frames per second, the separate graphics unit and 2 gigabytes of RAM ensure good performance. The dual band, which supports both 2.4 and 4 GHz in parallel, increases the speed and makes the connection more stable, ensuring smooth transmission via WLAN. Recently, HDR10 support is also on board, so that the image quality is improved again.

The internal memory can be expanded by 128 GB using a microSD card and thanks to pre-installed apps and streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Video & Co. you can start streaming immediately without having to go through an installation marathon. The supplied remote control is intuitive and good because it is paired via Bluetooth.

Compared to open Android systems, the range of apps is somewhat more limited because Amazon uses its operating system and its store, but in the test, the range was still convincing across the board, especially if you are an Amazon Prime customer. Without a Prime account, the selection is even more limited.

Rampotox® H96 Max

Android 10 system is installed on the Rampotox and the device works with Bluetooth, with the help of which you can easily pair several Bluetooth devices such as a mouse, keyboard, and headphones.

Also, dual WiFi is on board, which means that the box can receive 2.4, 5.0, and 5.8 GHz WiFi signals using multiple antennas. This ensures very good connection stability and an excellent transfer rate for streaming 4K content at 60 frames per second.

Thanks to H.265 hardware decoding, additional bandwidth is saved, so that all streams could be transmitted via WLAN without any problems in the test. The device has 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, and a fast processor which, in conjunction with the Mali-500 5-core graphics unit, ensures a very good overall performance.

The model is also convincing in terms of connection options because, in addition to HDMI 2.0, there is also an AV connection, a memory card slot, and a display on the front. The included remote control works well, only the mini keyboard, which is connected via Bluetooth, could not convince all testers. Nevertheless, the bottom line is that the operation is comfortable and good.

Conbre AirPAD i8 Mini Wireless

The Conbre AirPAD is equipped with Android, offers a good price-performance ratio, and comes with remote control and a mini Bluetooth keyboard.

However, both the remote control and the keyboard were not entirely convincing, so it might make sense to couple a separate control element or a full-fledged Bluetooth keyboard.

The performance of the box is very good thanks to 2 GB of RAM, a fast S905 quad-core processor including Mali-450 Penta-core GPU and 4K content or complex games can also be played smoothly and smoothly in the test. The device can be integrated into the network via LAN cable or WiFi, but the model only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi networks, which means that it lags a bit behind other devices in terms of WiFi speed and stability. However, H.265 hardware decoding is on board, so that there were no stuttering or delays with a stable WiFi connection, even when 4K content was streamed.

In addition to HDMI and LAN connection, the box also offers a MicroSD port as well as two USB connections and an optical DPFID connection. The bottom line is that the 10.7 x 10.7 x 1.5 box can be highly recommended, especially if you can do without a very fast WiFi connection, but still want to call a powerful Android Smart TV Box your own.

Buyers Info

Connectivity options

Modern Mart TV boxes have a variety of different connection options. This applies to larger boxes, which, unlike sticks, usually still have USB ports, card slots, or a LAN connection. If there is no LAN connection, a good WiFi connection is more important. Therefore, make sure that you can use the full potential of your router. If you have a modern router that can transmit on both 2.4 and 4 or 4.8 GHz in parallel, it may make sense to buy a Smart TV box or a Smart TV stick that can send both signals with different Antennas can be received and coupled into a single stable and fast connection.

The remaining connections can also be important, depending on how you plan to use the box. While compact sticks usually offer no other connection options besides Bluetooth, you can also connect USB devices to larger boxes or insert SD or micro SD cards. External hard drives can be attached, or the memory expanded. Some models also allow separate optical audio cables or headphones to be connected.

Media playback

An Android TV box can in principle all video. And play media formats as you can install additional codecs or players. Depending on the model, however, it may happen with restricted systems that certain formats cannot be played. If you then do not have full access to all Android offers, but only limited access, as is the case with the Amazon store, for example, you may have to forego certain files or obtain remedial action via media servers. For example, the Fire TV Stick does not support MKV videos by default, even if they can of course be streamed via a media server.

You should also make sure that your video files are supported in terms of resolution. While newer devices usually also support UHD, i.e. 4K videos, this is not the case with all Android boxes. It is also advisable to use a device for the playback of 3D content that has a separate GPU and supports playback accordingly. A fast USB port should also be available for USB transmission. This is especially true if you want to play high-resolution videos from external hard drives.

You should buy a more powerful and faster device, the higher your demands on the box. A simple SmartTV box for around 20 euros will mostly not be able to play high-resolution videos, 3D content or graphically demanding games cleanly and smoothly. However, if you do not need this and don’t have a 4K TV, a simple box can certainly serve its purpose. Because to stream normal HD and FullHD content, you do not necessarily need a high-end device; a simple entry-level model will do the same here.

For UHD content and complex games or apps, a model with a quad or octa-core processor, separate GPU unit, and at least 2 GB of RAM is recommended.

Additional functions

Higher-quality smart boxes usually also offer more extensive functions. This can include 4K playback, but also higher performance to be able to play more complex apps and games. Bluetooth 4.0 for coupling several devices or several WLAN antennas for better reception are among the useful equipment features.

You should ask yourself whether you want to stream more, or whether you would like to use the box as a media centre yourself, for example, to play games or connect external hard drives.

Make sure you also pay attention to the installed Android version, because this can also be an indicator of the topicality of the device and its performance. Currently, modern models are usually equipped with Android versions 6 or 7.
